While being named in the International Who's Who of Capital Markets Lawyers 2013, Nguyen Quang Hung is also recommended as a leading lawyer in Vietnam by various international legal magazines, such as IFLR, Legal 500, Chambers & Partners and ALB. For example, Chambers & Partners 2013 version states that Hung is praised by clients as 'excellent across the board'. Hung's practice includes foreign direct investment, banking, capital markets and project finance. Significant transactions that he has advised on include: the financing in an amount of nearly US$800m by a group of Korean financial institutions of the Keangnam Landmark Tower in Hanoi, the tallest building in Vietnam; the first domestic syndication in a total amount of US$225m by Vietnamese banks, led by PetroVietnam Finance Corporation (PVFC), for an offshore investment project in the energy sector; the recent issue of US$200m high-yield bonds listed on the SGX-ST by Vingroup JSC; the issue of bonds with warrants (the first of its kind in Vietnam) with a value of US$100m by FPT Corporation; and various other bond issues by large Vietnamese corporations such as Vietnam Coal-Minerals Industries Group, Song Da Corporation and Hoa Phat JSC. Hung is also the contact lawyer advising on day-to-day operation issues and syndicated and bilateral financing of bank clients such as Citibank NA, Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd, Bank of Tokyo and Mitsubishi UFJ, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Deutsch Bank, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, and Standard Chartered Bank. He assisted in developing model transactional contracts and security documents for several of the banks mentioned above and other large domestic banks.
